Congratulations to Paola Juarez, who has been recognized by LA County's Teacher of the Year Program for her efforts in the 2015-2016 school year. Paola was selected by her colleagues to represent AUSD as one of the 73 nominees in this prestigious recognition program, which began in 1972. Mrs. Juarez, who has been teaching for ten years, is an Eighth Grade Language Arts and Science teacher at Park Elementary School.
When asked about her teaching style Paola explains “Teaching is not standing in the middle of the room delivering lectures. It’s about embracing students for their unique gifts, talents and aspirations. When they see your passion for what you do, they become passionate about learning.” It is this very passion and commitment to her students’ success that has made Paola an award-winning teacher and one of the more respected employees in the district. AUSD thanks Paola for her service and looks forward to many more years of exceptional teaching.
